What does AAA Certified by NAID
mean?
NAID (National Association for Information Destruction,
Inc.) offers a voluntary annual operations certification
program to its members. Through the program NAID
Active Members may seek annual certification audits.
Only security professionals with the Certified Protection
Professional (CPP) accredition conduct the audits.
The NAID Certification Program establishes minimum
standards for employee hiring and screening, operations, the
destruction process, and insurance as well as other security
factors.
How large are the containers?
We
offer containers to meet most size needs. Please click

How long does it take to schedule
shredding?
Depending on your location it can be as quick as next day
service. Always within a few business days.
We dont have anything thats
very confidential, why would we need a shredding service?
All businesses have occasion to discard confidential data.
Customer lists, price lists, sales statistics, drafts of
bids and correspondence, and even memos contain information
about business activity which would interest any competitor.
Every business is also entrusted with information that must
be kept private. Employees and customers have the legal
right to have this data protected. THINK
AGAIN!
How long should keep my records
before disposing of them?
With the exception of a few specific records that
should be saved permanently, most documents and records need
to be saved for a maximum of seven years.

Retention Schedule.
What kind of paper can we put in
your containers?
We will shred any color or type of paper, including file
folders, paper clips, staples, and rubber bands.
What happens if our container is
full before the regularly scheduled service time?
Just call us and we will come out early. We will reset your
schedule from that date of service.
We have files stored to be shredded,
but need to sort through them. Do you have any containers
that we can use?
We can drop off as many containers as you think you will
need, before the shredding date, for you to use to sort
your
files.
Do you take the shredded paper
away?
Yes,
after it is shredded in our trucks, it is
taken to our secure facility in Winter Park, FL or
directly to the recycler.
Do you bring the shredder into
our office?
No, shredding is done with the large commercial shredder
mounted in our trucks, which are parked in
your parking lot or adjacent to your building. This
mobile shredding allows you to watch the process if you
like.
Can I keep my boxes?
Yes, you can keep your boxes to reuse.
Do
we need to have a check ready for you?
For 'purge' service, we prefer payment with check or credit
card at the completion of service. With prior authorization
we may bill you.
What areas do you service?
Currently
Florida Document Shredding services the Central Florida area including Orange,
Seminole, Osceola, Lake, Brevard, Volusia, and Polk
counties. We also have a network of providers that
we work with who can service other markets in the
state of Florida, with central billing through us, if desired.
Do you have lockable containers?
Yes. We offer a variety of containers, both lockable and
unlockable to meet all of your needs, with scheduled or
"on-call" service.
Do you provide a certificate of
destruction?
Yes, it is included with your invoice. They are also
available at the time of service if desired.
Why should we recycle?
We believe in
protecting the environment and are committed to recycling
100% of your shredded documents. Destroyed documents are
recycled into material such as paper towels, toilet paper,
cereal and corrugated boxes, and stuffing for diapers. For
every ton of paper recycled, you save 17 trees and 3.3
cubic yards of landfill space.
Why would I use a shredding service
instead of just recycling?
For
security. Recycling services are not designed to provide
security. Generally, recycling services use open collection
containers which are accessible to anyone; staff, janitors,
etc. Generally, the employees of recycling service companies
are not security screened personnel. Your paper is transported
in the trucks in whole form, so that if an accident should
occur, your secrets are everyone's. Paper is taken to the
warehouses, which are accessible to the public, and the
paper is sorted for grade.
The courts have ruled that once you place your material
into the trash can, recycling receptacle, or dumpster, you
lose all privacy rights to that information, no matter how
sensitive or proprietary it is. The laws on public domain
protect the people taking the information - NOT YOU! You
may even be held liable for negligence if the discarded
material does harm to someone. SHRED WITH FDS FOR
SAFETY! With the development of the Health Information Portability
and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), and the Gramm-Leach-Bliley
Act of 1999 (also known as the Financial Services Modernization
Act), shredding of documents has become the recommended
method for the handling of sensitive documentation.
Why should I have a shredding service
instead of buying my own shredder?
Money! It will cost you 3 to 5 times more to shred in-house
than to have a shredding service. Amortization of a
shredder, staff time, square footage for the operation,
maintenance, power costs and disposal costs all add up to
much more than we charge - and we do all of the work!
